Hey there! I’m Charlet Morris, and those that would call me an optimistic extrovert wouldn’t be wrong! I’m a small town Texas girl with a touch of wanderlust, who found herself loving the fun little artsy town of Winston-Salem, NC. I always loved doing hair, but didn’t consider it as a career option very early on, until one day I found myself two decades deep into a corporate banking career. Once it really sunk in that we really do only have this one wild and wonderful life to live, I decided that I didn’t want to waste it doing anything that didn’t light me up. So I very cautiously opened up my own little slice of heaven part time in the fall of 2019 and named her Lumeria. By the end of 2020 I knew it was time to make the leap and I left the corporate world for good!

At the time I opened the salon, I was learning to live with multiple health concerns including infertility and autoimmune disease, so it was important to me to create a space that was grounded in health, wellness, and sustainability, as conventional salon products have traditionally contained ingredients that are questionable at best. So I am absolutely thrilled to see the industry shift to more awareness around safer ingredients in our beauty and personal care products over the last several years!

When I was in cosmetology school (what feels like a million years ago) I learned about sew in extensions from some of my classmates. I was fascinated, but I didn’t have the braiding skills to really do it well at all! So I learned how to make wigs using glue, wefts, and wig caps, and I remember having way too much fun with those wigs I made in school. Fast forward to the spring of 2020 - I took my first hand-tied extensions class, and the fascination (um… obsession?) was renewed!

Over the last few years, I have poured myself into education, practice, and in depth technique work as it has become apparent that specializing in extensions and alternate hair is where my passion lies. My hands and my analytical brain love the technical detail and the creative artist in me loves the infinite color and design possibilities that hair extensions provides. I am forever learning something new, so at any given time we can always chat about whatever new class I’m working on the next time I see you at the salon!!

Outside of the salon I love spending time with my super awesome husband Matthew and our FOUR fur babies Cupcake, Quinn, Grover, and Pippin. In the spring and summer I love to dig around in our little backyard garden, and when its cold out, you can bet I’m hibernating. LOL!

I would LOVE to take care of you.
